How we check specs
The rules
- Facts only, with a source. For each year range and engine we store the group size, minimum CCA, battery type, the source link and the date we checked it. Nothing else.
- At least one manufacturer-grade source. Every row has at least one carmaker publication (owner's manual, carmaker battery chart) or a carmaker parts-brand application guide. Battery makers' guides are used to cross-check.
- Cross-check where we can. Most rows are confirmed by two or three independent sources. Where only one source covers a year (for example the newest model years), the page says so.
- Disagreement means we hide it. If sources disagree on a group size, we leave that year out. If they agree on size but not on CCA, we show the size and leave CCA blank.
- No guessing, no copying. We never estimate a spec. We don't copy manual text, tables or diagrams, and we don't store PDFs. We don't scrape retailer fitment tools.
- Vehicle list from NHTSA. Model years come from NHTSA's free vPIC database; recalls come from NHTSA's recalls data.
What "minimum CCA" means here
It's the cold cranking amps figure listed for that application in our sources (usually the original battery's rating). A replacement with the same or higher CCA in the right group size is fine.
